Meet The Maker
They say what's meant for you won't miss you. Mine showed up in the form of expanded hollow points.
Thanksgiving weekend 2014, my pops Banjo (a Navy SEAL veteran, firearms enthusiast and the kind of guy who could probably take out an adversary with a Nacho Cheese Dorito) showed me how certain types of ammunition expand. I took one look and thought, Dang, that would make some pretty amazing jewelry. My mom, Lola, thought so too. We spent the rest of the weekend in full freak-out mode, sparking an onslaught of ideas.
Around this time, my grandad Britt "Baco" Brown (Marine officer veteran, Grand Slam bear hunter and all-around badass mamma jamma) passed away. In one of our last conversations, he lit a fire in my pants like nobody's business to get this concept off the ground.
Fast forward past quitting my corporate job, diving into metalsmithing and more ups and downs than a Six Flags roller coaster… Bullet Bloom blossomed.
Now my main gig is taking expanded bullets, fired underwater and turning them into something people actually want to wear. They're lead-free (poisoning customers isn't a great business strategy), recast in precious metals and often set with stones to create statement pieces that pack serious backbone and tenacity. They represent the fine art of dodging the bullet, metaphorically and sometimes literally.
So whether you've sidestepped disaster, tucked and rolled outta the past five years somewhat unscathed or just need a conversation starter to tell someone exactly how pro 2A you are… Meet Bullet Bloom.
Every expanded bullet I work with tells a story of perseverance, transformation and finding beauty in the unexpected. So if you've been here since the very first bloom or you just stumbled in recently, you're now part of that story too and I'm so glad you're here.
